GAP MACHOCHA (75 km, 1 hour 13 minutes by car)

Abyss, which was named after the legend of the 17th century, was a large cave ceiling collapsed. Therefore the bottom part covers the rubble, which are remnants of the collapsed ceiling. Bottom of the gorge flowing river Punkva, which supplies two lakes. The upper lake is approximately 13 meters deep and is visible from above. The lower lake is hidden among the rocks, so it is not visible from above, and its depth exceeds 49 meters (so far not reached the bottom). Bottom of the gorge gorge flowing river Punkva. It originates at the confluence wide range of submersible zdrojnic that flow through the limestone to the north and east. Water Punkvy first appear in daylight at the bottom of the gorge. The result was a detailed scientific expeditions exploring the caves and gorge themselves to the bound gap. This work culminated in 1914 by making dry parts of the caves. In the years 1920-1933, then followed the discoveries leading to access to water immersion houses on the river Punkva. .
